Alex Crawford is a writer and film critic originally from San Francisco currently residing in Los Angeles. He earned his Bachelor's in Journalism and Film Studies from Bennington and then received his MFA in Film Criticism from Columbia University. He has contributed to The New Yorker, MUBI Notebook, Filmmaker Magazine, The New York Review of Books, The Metrograph, among other outlets. He is currently working on a book of film criticism about the contemporary neo-realist film movement as it relates to global economic policy and neo-fascism in historic cultural epicenters.

In his spare time, Alex still dabbles in filmmaking as a writer and director.
